Yes, but let's say that there are two kaiju who are completely equal in terms of physicality, the only difference between them being that one can launch fireballs and the other cannot. We want to try and reflect that. The method? By making the very base 8 points in the Secial stat untransferrable (until I think of a more accurate way to represent this at least).

doesn't this need to be updated? We don't want to confuse people into thinking they NEED a substitution ability to be able to use the agility or defense stat to roll.

Well, I clarified it in the Combat Rules, and clarified the language here a bit.

Okay, reset the Adv/Disadv/whatever we're calling it, back to my original parameters, and also added in the Specialties class of moves. Currently working on a way to balance the advantages with disadvantages appropriate to the system. Input is appreciated!

We must consider the amount of points one may be able to use for their abilities!
'cause like, my Djinn be mad-ly skilled yo, for truth
But yeah.. I've got a monster with a ton of specials.. is that a problem? Would simplistic monsters get the shortt end of the stick in this scenario?
I want to say it depends, because I think even simplistic monsters can be given creative abilities, like Saif al Sadik's 'Djinn-ius' ability. That can actually be applied to just about any smart-enough kaiju.
But maybe a limitation on special ability points is in order?

Either that or simply be firm with evaluations, and telling people to drop point numbers so not all the abilities are maxed out.

Well, we can definetely do that, too. I fully encourage that. But it also would help if we could find some way to discourage or otherwise make difficult the creation of a Kaiju that is utterly tweaked out on the abilities side.

I still say that disabling the use of points taken from the special stat is a pointless and stupid restriction.

Special Stat Reform Proposal
I propose that if a kaiju has no special abilities, that their special stat be lowered to 0, and they be given 4 points to add to other stats.
Why 4? Because Attack, Defense and Speed can be lowered to 4 themselves, which means you can only get 4 extra points from any base stat.
This will give non-special kaiju a lil extra edge in other stats without it being too big a boost.

I agree. It would provide a better incentive to the player to make a monster that doesn't have some kind of special attack.

I also agree. That's still fair and balanced.

So does that mean motion passed, or does GT's word trump all?

And honestly, the whole special/physical imbalance rule was my idea, put into the rules by me. So if you're gonna blame someone for it, you might as well blame the right person, bsdq.
