The beam hit Clover mid-swing and he screeched and stumbled, throwing one of his front arms out to catch himself. His head slowly turned to face MechaGodzilla, and he almost glowered for a moment, before bellowing out in rage, clasping his fists together in an uppercut strike aimed for MechaGodzilla's jaw.

[lol, I know, I was tired so I just ran the numbers. And I must say I do believe I avoided the worst of that!]
"All power to forearms! Ready the right arm blade!" barked the pilot, with the AI quickly complying. MechaG's left arm raised to block the incoming hammer-strike, and when it connected, flared up as bright as a small sun. A long blade slid from its right forearm, and with a low hum began to glow a faint blue. "Shields holding", noted the AI as the mecha rocked from the blow of the monster's attack. "Right arm blade deployed and charged." With one fluid motion, the MechaG stabbed toward's the Cloverfield monster's torso while it was recovering from it's failed power attack.

((1 Point success difference, wow. XD))
Clover saw the attack coming a split second too late, and in the awkwardness of turning a follow-through into a dodge, wasn't able to avoid the blade entirely, as it slashed across his exposed torso, jetting a spray of blood toward MechaGodzilla. Clover let out a shocked gasp and stumbled back, looking at the blood dripping to the ground for a moment. With a frenzied roar, he opened and unhinged his jaw, jumping forward to try and clamp it around MechaGodzilla's wrist.

[Okay, not bad. I can work with that.]
The monster's lunge carried it forward with a startling alacrity, and before the pilot could move MechaGodzilla to safety it had latched on to his right forearm, his jaws closing like a vice. The shields screamed and sizzled in protest, and a klaxon began to go off inside the cockpit. Thinking fast as the sparks began to fly, the pilot had MechaG's left blade telescoped out and cracked to life, and was promptly thrust straight down the spot between the monster's neck and clavicle.

[Hm, but wouldn't Clover's attack, which is currently at 115(well beyond the critical hit of 100%), deal more damage than what was shown? This is an interesting scenario where we should probably consider whether the way damage is taken should be based on how high the winning number is OR the difference between the two numbers.... It'd be convoluted to rely on both.]

[Eh? What are you talking about? He latched on to my arm, which was the aim of his attack in the previous post. I can't avoid that at all. His attack wasn't neccesarily to damage me, per se, but to perform a very specific action, which he did. And in addition, he's about to blow out my shields; If I can't get him off now, I'm losing power to the shields in that area. Also, the critical is only scored when you roll the per cent with the Attack script; as it stands, the 115 is used to help me run the difference on how severe the damage should be. In this case, it's pretty bad, even with my total of 90. Also, I already pointed out in the combat rules, the severity of attacks is dictated by the difference between the two final calcuated numbers. You should re-read them, lol.]

((...I must ask at this point because it has never been brought up...Do you add the modifiers before or after you convert it to a d20 roll?))

[add the modifiers on the very post that has the roll. Just like how they've been doing it.]
